How is the clock on the Rosetta 800?

Would it make a good master clock?

apogee has a pretty good clock reputation ... would except the rosetta 800 to live up to that.

I`ve used a PSX 100 as a master clock for years with good results.
The 800 is supposed to be better I think.

Good clock. Better than PSX100 or AD8000. Based off the BigBen, but not exactly the Big Ben.

check these new converters from Apogee they suppose to have the same clock as Bigben.
Wonder what the cost will be though.

Not quite...good clock, yes, but not based off of Big Ben. It's the Intelliclock they first developed for their DA16 if I recall correctly. The C777 digital clock in Big Ben is in the new AD16X and DA16X, but not the Rosetta 800. Who knows, maybe later this year there'll be a Rosetta 800X...

A quote from that info page link you gave:

...And, not only does the X-Series hardware offer unequaled, groundbreaking technology but it makes it available at a fraction of the cost associated with previous, premium Apogee gear...
"fraction of the cost"...mmmmm.....sounds delicious

cheers,

maybe they'll drop from "totally unreasonable" to "you can't afford this".

I wonder what's letting them drop the prices on all their stuff so much (compared to the AD8000 $$$$$ cost)?

Market research?
