advice for analogic mixing

Hi everybody
l I work on mac pro and Digital Performer 5..... but the mixing on this interface I tire me i don't like mix with automation drawing. Before this, I mixed with a analogic mackie 1402 VLZ mixer and I would like to return has this formula for the creativity that brings

My mackie returning the heart and not having a fantastic sound, I would like to acquire a midas venice 160 for mixiing in studio.i would assemble my productions under DP then to send my tracks to the midas via a motu 828 mk2 fet and record the out of the midas to record my music.

my first question is: somebody is what uses this method with this config?? I want "play" mixer.e.
I saw that the sends for the monitors and to the bus are pre eq??? how could i do to record my mix and listen it.

i search a used midas for 1500bucks .Do you a better idea of gear for this price?

thanks for all

P.S:sorry for my english,it's not very good:)
