Thread Starter | Elegant wall-wart solution???
Hi all, well I am still setting everything up from my move from Europe to the US. I am now down to having to replace all my wall-wart power supplies. I guess there are about 20 that do not switch to 110v- all a variety of different voltage output's and amp's. Does anyone have an elegant solution- my idea is a rackmount "something" that can be configured on a per port basis. Failing that can anyone suggest something better than going to Radio Shack and getting a bunch of power supplies? A good online supplier pehaps? Many thanks, James |

If you can plug them all into the same location (like if they are all for rack mounted gear going into one or two racks as opposed to scattered all over the studio) something like this might work: Bring some euro style AC outlet strips with you to the states. Plug all of the 220V wall warts into these outlet strips. Get one 120V - to - 220V AC transformer to power these outlet strips. If the current draw is tiny (and it probably will be) then this transformer can just be one of those cheap little travel style transformers. You should get this transformer before you come to the states. The only kind you will easily find here are the opposite - 220V to 120V for people in the states to use when travelling abroad. DP |

Is the mpathx available? Every time I look into it, seems like it hasn't been released. (Been a while since I looked into it, though.)

When will the mpathx be available? Any news, potential distributors?

Last I saw in TapeOp ads, they were "close" to shipping. Looks like a great solution for guitar techs like me who deal with pedals in a rack....

| Well, almost. It doesn't seem to allow for control of AC wall warts. The fact that it's remained vaporware for so long and the company seems kind of dodgy makes me wonder. If it works as planned and they add ac voltage control, I'll still buy one or two.

So you have wall warts that output AC? I don't think I've ever seen that.
