| Lives for gear | Sorry to give you this answer, I personaly don't like people who give the kind of answers I'm about to give you.. BUT................ listen to Beatles songs, all day. Study them. Don't just listen, analize songstructure and melodic circles and rhyming.. that is the best tutorial I can think of. As far as books there are some songwriting books, but mainly cover lyrics and rhyme. Still useful.. but I haven't found a good read that will actually make you a better songwriter. One thing I do remember which works pretty cool when you are stuck with lyrics or inspiration, is free writing... Grab a piece of paper, and write WITHOUT STOPING or correcting, write for 3 minutes whatever comes to your head .. kicks the subconcious and gets the thing going.
