cs = current sense, their term for impedence matching I believe.

BTW, here's how to use Google.

Type in "JOEMEEK VC1Qcs"

press ENTER

see joe meek page at the top link, click it

then, read this on the page:

"MICROPHONE INPUT: XLR input 3kohm approx. to suit 200 ohm microphones. Current Sense Impedance matching". Switchable 48V phantom. Input level from-70dB to 0dB."

grok.

the vc1qcs is definitely not stereo. they make a VCtwinQcs and that is stereo. the "cs" designation has the "current sensing" mic pre, whatever that means. You can read about on their website. I had one and returned it. THe compressor was nice, but not $700 nice in my opinion.

Some of the older vc1q are liked more because they had transformers in them. They ditches that approach with the vc1qcs, so the pre sounds a little different.

If you need the eq and comp in one box, it's probably the best thing in that price range for rock stuff, but if you are looking primarily for a mic pre, there are far better options IMHO.

I would grab it. I had a pair a while back and then sold them. I have a ton of high end preamps but I really missed the VC1Qs for vocals. I actually just grabbed another one. It really stood out and gave a different color. I would snatch it up.......

Plus....

IT HAS A BLUE LIGHT!!!!!!! LOL
