| XHIP-HOP Does have a point here : But arguing aside, if you really want an answer It would be that it is a "Mid Level" Console. That is Assuming of course its the Soundcraft Ghost LE 24 or 32 you are referring to |

| Lives for gear | definitely mid-level... but if you lived in angola it would be very high level... |

| I have to ask, are you asking because of perceived value to potential clients / other members of Gearslutz or are you asking if it sounds good? The meaning of "high end" is a bit cloudy here as the price is quite low. War

Thread Starter | Alright,im getting ready to take a big leap into a used console from a well know vendor.Im finding it hard to take the leap to 15 year old amek angela, that will be seviced befor i pick it up.Im just wondering if its worth it,compared to a soundcraft le 24.I know two completly different mixers. Will there be a major differance in sound.BTW thanks Warren for the tracking # the other day.If i get the SC i can get a ton more of outboard pres, and just use the SC for mixdown. But if the Amek is gonna blow the SC out of the water then its a no brainer.Im asking cause i just dont know. Please help. Also im looking at a Trident t24 |

| Jeez...people's replys have been really wierd lately. The answer is mid-level...Of course he is talking about quality. Why would anyone want to be percieved as high quality when they are not and have the ballz to post here. An answer is very simple. Mid. And for the record high end is high end. Mid = mid ....etc. If you or he percieves it differently well.....maybe thats why this person asked?...hello!! Leave everyone else's opinion out.... I think Mid. |

| Tough call. Lots of routing with the SC, I'm not sure of its summing (alot about that here) SC boast about the pre's which..are good, probably just good. If your using outboard at that point the summing would be a factor. I hear of alot of LE mods. Amek would probably hand it to the SC. With the AMEK you would have to decide on the 2 bus Summing and pres and if you really like it. Nice outboard pres and if the Ghost can pull that off, well. Depends on what your doing too. You would probably be happy for a long time with the AMEK. I have a 24Le and I dont use it at all. I use a Soundtracs Mega S and I just like how the Soundtracs is Cleaner. However I haven't givin the Ghost a chance. |

Thread Starter | Well it obvious the Amek is more expensive.Funny thing is the wife is pulling for the Amek, she wont have to sevice it or carry it in to the studio.I only edit in PT,track to HD24.That said summing old school. |

i said that because i work with a lot of musicians from angola (great ,talented ones, every one of them, by the way) and they tell me about the studios they worked there...( and i have a pretty simple studio for american standarts) that picture probably is from a real good studio...(looks like a radio station) lot's of brazilian people get paid lots of cash to work there in tv stations and the sort, because it's hard to find good trained technicians... and since we already speak portuguese... many friends of mine have gone to live there and get paid 10 times what they get here.. that said we have almost 200,000 angola imigrants from the civil war living in rio. and big cultural ties that go all the way back to the first slaves broought to brazil... most i met were highly educated, amazing artists and very nice people too. | |
