Little labs Red Eye pad hole? Whats the deal?

If you have one, it says "pad" and the place for the pad is just a hole. Its too small for my pecker (barely) so I cant figure out what the deal is. Is mine broke?

I bet you there's some sort of attenuator in the hole which, with a small computer screwdriver (non-Phillips), you can probably adjust it. Just a guess though.

From the manual (convenient little thing):

"Pad is an internal push switch reachable by a think screwdriver to select the reamp in pad for +4db (pad in). Pad in is used when the Redeye is used as an extra output for the PCP or with any +4db line level outputs. Pad out is for use with low level devices such as an active DI without gain."
