Peluso CEMC6

I've been using the Peluso CEMC6 for drum overheads. They are very detailed and nuetral. I've been running them through my pacificas and they seem to add a cool color but I don't think it's enough. The Pelusos are very Shoeps like. I'm looking for more of a rock sounding pair of overhead mics.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Have you considered the Peluso P12's? A stereo matched pair of those would be excellent for overhead drums (among many other things).

Did a shootout with AKG460's, Octava's, and the Peluso's for rock overheads. Used API's & Portico's. The Peluso's were by far the worst sounding. Not even a marginal thing. You're better off with Octava's. The KM184's will knock the socks off any of the previously mentioned pairs for rock OH's.

Just out of curiosity, which Peluso's did you try and were they a matched stereo pair?

If it were me, I would buy this pair of Gefells. And exactly a grand from what appears to be a reputable seller in Germany. Then again I generally love everything Gefell.

Matched mint CEMC6's in a decent sized room with a well tuned kit.

This is what I have... You think they are good for Rock on drum overhead duties?

I use a pair of the AKG 460 with cardiod capsules over the drums. I like them.
