It's legit. I basically found a guy who wanted to sell all the rack gear that was sitting in the studio he owned. The place had been down for a couple years, ever since his engineer quit. He has no engineering know-how, so didn't use the gear. I told him (truthfully) how much it was all worth individually based on completed eBay listings, PrePal.com, and Craigslist & Gearslutz Classifieds, and then offered him all the money I could afford. He was just psyched to get a check and get rid of all the gear at once.
Win-win situation, I say.
Anyway, now he's talking about selling the rest of the equipment in his studio, including a pair of 1030As, a U87, a pair of TLM103s, and a buncha other stuff (including instruments).
Oh. And he's looking to sell his Mackie X-Bus.
