The unit is in EXCELLENT condition, but I really don't know what it's worth and if there is any gear heads out there in the world who would like to have a unit like this that comes with plenty of history.

Thank you for your time,
These things are awesome. I got one a few years ago and it's a favorite of many of the producers (and of mine!) I've mixed for since.

They can be had on the cheap; I got mine for ridiculously cheap (won't say exactly how much, though). You should be able to pick one up around $200 or so, if you can find one.

I've got an AKG BX5- the smallest and cheapest in the range - and it sounds very smooth and characterful on most non-percussive things, especially vocals, guitars and the mid/high end of a bass guitar track. on percussion or percussively played tracks it can sound very groovy to play with the eq sweep in time with the track as an effect. the roland space/chorus echo has a great spring reverb built in too, completely different to the akg, really dirty sounding and great as an obvious vocal effect.

I like the AKG BX20. The Fairchild was sadly underwhelming. I haven't had the pleasure of using a spaceXpander, so I can't comment on that.

I have a Master Room and an Orban.

They are both great!

The Orban is very clangy/dubby sounding and the Master room is smoother but instant vintage.

I like the reverb in our Space Echoes too.

I really like the Roland RV-800 (true) Strereo spring reverb. Really smooth and some great features.
The reverb in the space echo is alright in it's classic way.

i'de like to try the fender reissue though...
