| guitar heads in control room. how to connect to cab in live room??? hi, if you read my other post you'll know i am building my new studio. i have another question for you guys ! i want to have the guitar heads in the control room and the cabs in the live room. what is the best way to get the speaker lead from one room to another? can i say, buy a regular 8 way wall patch panel, and run a speaker lead out of the head, into the wall panel, and then in the live room, run another speaker cable into the cab on the other end? would that work? or will the patch panel be damaging to something? |

| Longwave: Use this.http://www.mercenary.com/lilasitrdesm.html I'm obsessed with guitar tone and this unit is AWESOME! It does exactly what you want, is inexpensive and you'll thank me once you use it. Really... No loss in signal, nothing! I also use the Radial Injector and it allows me to combine/mix/match heads, cabs, blend them, etc. FYI: Once I get a sound I'm happy with on each amp, I hook up to the Radial and blend away. Works great for re-amping as well. If you're alone, try sending a DI signal (split with the Injector or Tone Bone) directly to the board/DAW and your amps. This way you can lay down some tracks, and dial in the sound to your ears, play with mics, etc. Then once you have it, document it and off you go. Little Labs also has some great Re-amping stuff for a$200 as well (Red Eye) if you don't want to spend $750 for the radial or don't need/use like 6 or 7 amps ( Injector can handle 7 Rigs). Keep in mind phasing issues (Little Labs IBP or Jr) and you're rocking! BTW: The IBP can re-amp as well as keep things in phase! Good luck! TJ |

| Just get some decent sized speaker wire (larger than lamp cord) and put large Switchcraft 1/4" jacks on it. Run it under the door. You don't need to install wall jacks. Any decent amp can easily push a signal down 25', 30' or more. It's the cable from the GTR to the head that matters most. If you think that you can hear a degredation in 30' of decent speaker cable then you have better ears than a lot of pretty knowledgable people I know. You'd also better be playing some pretty bitchin' azz guitar stuff and be making a lot of money doing it. Run a decent wire under the damn door and spend the time you'd spend wiring wall jacks and cutting holes on practice or better takes. Use your time wisely.

| the little labs device would do the job, as will the radial studio guitar interface, but if i understand correctly, with these devices, your amp will have to be next your cab, while you can be wherever... what we are looking for is a device that will allow the cab to be 100' away from the amp/musician... essentially an amp to cab extender, as opposed to a guitar to amp extender. I have not seen such a device yet. Little Labs, Radial, Whirlwind.... anyone listening? disclaimer: unlike dbubba, i do not know if running 30+ feet of speaker cable will degrade the sound, so i do not know if the need for such a device exists even... respect,

| in my opinion no need for a device if you have good speaker cable... I have a speaker cable run through from my control room to my live room, and from my control room to an iso booth. One run is about 40 feet, the other run is about 70 feet. I haven't noticed a any problems at all |

| 12 ga. cable. It's not that difficult... At 25 volts, you're not going to be picking up any noise, RF or otherwise. You'll loose a bit of voltage in the cable resistance, but you'll never notice it. |
