Talking What's your Jerry Maguire moment on gearslutz?

Remember where he gets the moment of clarity and writes the big 'Mission Statement' that costs him his job and that feeling he had after he dropped it in the mail. OOOPS, I just f**ked up! Well, I've had many of those moments over the years posting on gearslutz, to many to mention. Put foot in mouth.

One of my best was this week when I compared people who play Taylor acoustics to people in the 80's who played Ovations. I made a compelling aurgument but none the less people were flipped out! Sorry

Am I alone? Has anyone pulled the trigger on some pearls of wisdom and wish they hadn't?

Forget what your clients said during sessions, what the stupidest thing you ever said on gearslutz?

Yeah, I mentioned less than favorable opinions of Vintech products. It was for the most part sales propaganda. In learning about all this stuff, the voices tend to blend as one education. I learned that it's important to strictly distinguish 3rd party opinions from hands-on experience. Negative 'he said' can happen easily and just as fast piss people off.

And you think people will pull your best quote, your most dramatic point and respond to that, but they end up extracting the most unimportant sentence you wrote, the part you didn't even give any thought to, and get all over you with it.

A few...

One is that if you're on an audio forum then you're probably not productive.

Another is that pros who recommend bright high end gear probably equal pros with hearing loss.

Another is that Gear Slutz is more personality cult than gear or recording site.
