Thread Starter | CAD Maxcon 2 any thoughts or info?
Hello all, I'm on the verge of buying a console. I've tossed back and forth many options. Such as a Midas Venice, MCI, Soundcraft, Speck Xtramix, Soundtracs. These are certainly very different beasts I know. lo and behold I found out about a CAD Maxcon 2 for a very reasonable price, needs cleaning but passes audio, not used in 5 years. I can go test and check it out before buying. But the seller is a plane ride away. So I have no idea what this console actually sounds like. And don't want to waste a trip. Has anyone had any experience with this desk? At present I'm mixing through Mytek 8x96 DAs into a D2B LT and another 8 channels summed through a Presonus M80... I'm looking for something with more routing options, eq and preamps, more flexible for tracking and mixing. I really like the D2B LT but somehow want a console. Hmmmmmm. walker |

I'm happy to hear you went with the MCI instead of the CAD.

Dude.. it warms my cold digitised heart to see someone actually taking notice of what i have been saying across all the forums for the last 4 yrs.. these are ****ING awesome rock consoles and are chock full of transformers and inductors int he bottom band of EQ.. seriously buy the MCI parts on ebay right now as they have 6 of the mci 2001 opamps which are VERY damn hard to find now as they are out of production... congratulations i wish i didnt sell mine last yr. Also the guys I'm getting it from already replaced the 2001s with 5534s, which I hear they still make. They also recapped it. Ready to go they say, well see.
