I don't have much, but I am very happy with it. Fender American Strat HSS with Floyd Rose original. Boss DD5 digital delay. Peavey 6505+. I usually have a cry baby wah as well, but my friend has it. I find I don't really need anything else.

I did play a Soldano for the first time a few days ago, and it kicked ass.

main part of what used to be my collection..[/QUOTE

Mesadude,

Is the red guitar on the far left made by Heritage? Hoe does it compare to the Gibson 335? I hear they are just like the real deal.

With the exception of a few more NOS tubes, I've gone pretty much
full slut on my '65 Gemini I

Only the best for this amazing amp.

The 7591 power section is teamed up with a 12AX7 pre section.
The treble controls both have a bright boost. 2 channels Reverb
and Tremelo. I spent about $300.00 on the cap job, new A/C cord,
NOS tubes and another $309.00 on the Fane AXA12.

It's much like owning a fine old roadster, a few tweaks here and there,
but the thrill is worth the upkeep.

Just a detail shot here of the new Fane AXA12.

im going to get hated on for saying this..

all that equipment can be had in one program like guitar rig 4.....

ok...the sound is not as good as the real thing....but damn look at all that gear it takes

serious question here though...

do most recording studios provide guitar gear like guitars, amps, pedals etc. or is that something the player has to bring himself?

lets say i wanted to provide something for guitar players to use when they come to my studio....besides mics, what would be the first thing i should buy?

As your list of clients grows, you might consider specialty amps and guitars
that work best for your clients.

It helps if you have a few legacy tones covered like Fender, Hiwatt, Vox and Marshall, but if most of your paying clients are into metal, you might want to invest in specialty amps to draw in those customers.

If you'd rather not buy amps, then it's a good idea to have a well stocked
back line rental house in your Rolodex.

Sometimes you may be able to barter for good gear in return for studio time.

since i know very little about guitars ( i am trying educate myself little by little though)....what would be a good/classic/general purpose cab?/amp to buy first? like a good marshall or fender...just throw something out there for me

rental? hmm..not where i live lol

I'm trying to keep in mind that you are in Greece and your selections
my be limited.

In Europe, I would buy a vintage 70's Hiwatt DR-504

Try to hunt down a clean Silver Face or Black Face Fender Princeton Reverb, Super Reverb or Vibrolux Reverb.

A Vox AC15 or AC30 with British Celestion Blues.

For Marshall, I would just have Ceriatone build you a clone
or hunt down an original.

For a first studio electric guitar, it's hard to go wrong with a good Fender Tele or Strat.

we do more country, folk, indie rock and singer/songwriter than say heavy metal.... but we are working on getting some bigger amps!

They're not the same:

From top to bottom:
5150 w/ Voodoo platinum mod
5150 Signature w/ bias mod
5150 Block Letter from 92-93
5150 II

And there is a EVH 5150 III on the other side

Damn, Bigfrog, how long did it take to accumulate that quantity of amps? Curious. Can you describe some of the small, ancient, funky-looking ones?

I guess about 8 years, there are cool amps around from all over, if your aggressive and have a good amp tech a lot of fun can be had in a short amount of time.

we like the tube amps from the 50's mostly but really the little guys must have something unique to offer the pallet. A Navajo buddy brought us a barn find 61 princeton brown with the sweetest tremalo it ended up on almost every record somewhere... it just sounded so REAL... real f#$ing good! ...that started the quest for the coolest tones....

each amp has a character of its own, something unique or charming or different from the others... one trick ponies. we like all original old stuff, and now we are starting to explore boutiques.....but for 2400 would you rather have a blackface fender _____? or some 50/100w head... we need tone not massive deafening volume.... we have microphones for that.....

so we started finding them pretty cheap although lately it seems everyone wants alot for vintage amps! but each one is very cool and a lil different.
silvertones, harmony, airlines, we just scored the 55 gretsch electromatic deluxe, magnatone, oahu, danelectro, national, the fenders get the most work, 65 bandmaster, 62 bassman modded, we finally got a marshall, the ampegs are cool, we just got a b15 a few months ago and its heaven, ditry growly beauty.... gotta sell a b18 so i can get a gemeni or a reverbarocket..... we are waiting on a Kelemen 30w dumble clone.....

the sluttyness never stops.
just gotta get one more... one more.... just......one........morestike

Eduardo is in the reamping business, that explains his collection! Nice one Eduardo! I've owned pretty much all of those, I really honestly believe you will hear much more of a difference in sound with a different Guitar believe it or not! Here's some of my studio amps......thumbsup
