Funny you should mention that....humbucker said they will get the 1x12 that is made for that head within a month, BUT
They guys make nice cabs: http://www.lopoline.com/home.html
I have an alnico 12" that I am thinking about putting in one.....
BTW, so far I have only played mine thru a 4X12...it is plenty nice.

Thought others would be interested, so here it is... Wow, what can I say? In all honesty, the Orange Tiny Terror is one of the best sounding amplifiers I have ever played...at any price. It sounds better than my Matamp (original Orange manufacturer) costing four times as much! It is insanely loud even on the 7 watt setting and should have no trouble keeping up with a drummer at full power. There is an insane amount of useable gain on tap, and it sounds great at low, medium, and high gain settings. For such a small package, the tone is jaw droppingly HUGE. Every bit as much low end as a 100w Orange. The master volume is one of the best I've ever played with no loss of tone at low volume. The tone is as British in character as it gets, and while the clean tones don't quite compare to my Victoria 5112 (nothing does), there is an unbelievable amount of clean headroom available. With the volume at full tilt and the gain set low the amp will not break up. Similar to the gain, the tone knob sounds great throughout the entire range. The amp cleans up nicely as well allowing easy control of the drive from the guitar. The amp responded well to both my P90 equipped Gibsons and my American Fender Tele run through a Rivera 1x12 widebody cab. Finally, I have found the ideal recording amp with enough power on tap to double as my live rig.
I know this sounds like cheerleading, but for $500 it is a no-brainer. And before the masses chime in, yes, I know it is made in China. I'm a total boutique amp snob, but this thing sounds so good I could care less where it is manufactured. There is nothing that can touch it for the $$$. And surprisingly enough, it came stock with JJ tubes.

i can't believe everyone i've called about a freakin' 1 X12 not only doesn't have it, they're like: "1 X12? didn't know they made those..."
so do you have any idea when you'll have 'em?
"orange? forget it. they're notoriusly late. who knows when they'll get here."
so i try to get on the orange forum and ask but i can't log in. 'either your email or user name have been taken, but we'll get back to you.' yeah sure.
WaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAH!!!!
ok i feel better now.

BTW just noticed the 2 X12 has celestion vintage 30s, and the 1 X12 has celestion G12 100 K. the cabinets also have a different height and depth. has anyone tried both? any comments? Quote:

David | finally got the amp! that's the good news. the bad news is my house has been getting an overhawl and when i went for my gold PRS mccarty (heel removed by ed roman, etc.) to try it out it wasn't there......
either someone ripped it off or (i'm hoping) it's in cancun but i doubt it. anyway, i was so bummed i couldn't bring myself to try the amp out for a coupla days but today i couldn't resist.
at least the les paul was still there (phew), so i plugged it in and all i can say is wow.
the gods of rawk are still smilin'!! from balls out, beatles jingle jangly stuff, to soft and sweet. wow, wow, wow.
looked really cool sittin' on top of a 4X12 marshall cab. must be getting old 'cause when i cranked it on 15 watts i had to turn it down. even on 7 watts that little thing is LOUD. |

Awesome! I hope things get resolved with the PRS...I hate that feeling.
Not to cross-pollenate, but I also picked up the Epiphone Valve Jr. head (which is pretty awesome too). In stock condition this amp is a great compliment for the TT. Its darker or more "Vintage" as their literature says.
Anywho, I put them both up on the 4X12 (in stereo) and wow, what fun. That IS a very flexible setup and I have not even hooked up all my pedals either (just the TS808).
Still a bit too cumbersome for ME to tour with. I am looking into a 2X12 with a stereo/mono jack panel (any one know of any?) but it looks like I will have build it myself.
Have fun and good luck with the PRS,
David

a 2X12 stereo cab would be very cool. isn't the orange 2 X12 mono/stereo?
(edit) just checked the orange site. only 16ohms is mentioned, so i guess mono only.

wowowow
finally got it into a soundproof space and smoked the power tubes tonight - it f*ucking rocks - it's a BIG flavour, insanely loud even on 7w
someone said it on another thread but i highly recommend an eq pedal in front of this, the onboard tone control is pretty rudimentary, but some decent eq opens it right up. LOADS of possible tones - just adoring the gain at 12-1pm, volume dimed. sounds huge and dynamic.
here she is teamed w/ blues junior & pedalboard in disarray pending wire-up

This thread is a great read. Knowing I can now get an arsenal of Orange tones for within my budget is very exciting.
I'd love to hear if anyone's tried it live or at a band practice, something of that sort, to see how it really stacks up against a full band.

I'm just trying to figure out what I can sell so I can afford this amp. I'm considering just dumping my ac30cc and going with this bad boy. Sad thing is I don't even play guitar and I have 3 kick ass amps already. Is 27 too late for lessons?

i'm really thinking about getting one of these...i've been following this thread since it first came out. but i'd like to test it at my rehearsal space with my drummer, bass player, and lead guitar player first...not that i don't believe everyones reviews on here...but i'd like to hear it for myself. i'm sure the the 15w switch sounds loud enough, but i'd like to hear it with my band playing together. i wonder if the tone or sound can be shaped to get a tone/sound like Avenge Sevenfold? (we kind of sound like that) i'm sure a good pedal could achieve this, but i'd like to accomplish this with just the amp if possible.
i guess my reason for posting is to ask this question...has anyone cranked up the drive or gain hard enough to get the modern Hard Rock/Metal tone or sound with out a pedal yet?
thanks in advance!
oh, and has anyone recorded with it yet? and if so, could a sample mp3 be given?
thanks again!

I am also very interested if it has enough gain to do the metal thing.
Here are some clips of the tiny terror http://www.purevolume.com/penthouseshed
The "Gibson Drive" clip has the most gain out of the clips - wonder if that was cranked up all the way?

thanks again! | I have cranked this thing up to see how it compares with my other Class A (AC30) type amps, and see the differences to my Marshalls.
It fits nicely in between in the AMOUNT of gain available between the Class As and the JCM900/2000s; more than the Class As, less than the JCMs. It has more focus than the Class As and not quite as much BEEF as the JCMs.
This is a very versatile amp...it's great.
I have been too busy playing the thing (with my various setups) to get around to recording it....plus I have the Valve JR. that I have been putting thru the same paces (as well as thinking of a new setup with the TT).
Someone will post something soon I am sure.

As the originator of this thread, I would be happy to give an update on my experience with the Tiny Terror these past few months and hopefully answer a few questions along the way.
I was rehearsing with a guy the other day playing a cranked 85w Twin with a pedal board. As I was setting up the TT, he said, cool amp but I'm more of a 50-100w guy. Suffice it to say that the Orange simply swallowed his amp whole whenever he stepped on his drive pedal. Afterward he said, man that amp sounds amazing. I was running volume and drive at about noon on the 15w setting, so I don't think having enough volume on tap will ever be an issue, even with a live drummer. And I have to say, being able to pop it into the gig bag and throw it over my shoulder for a rehearsal was sooooo nice. My old Matamp must have weighed 60 lbs, and was a hernia waiting to happen!
I have recorded with the TT extensively and had tremendous success. The gain comes up hard and fast as soon as you pass 1:00 on the drive knob...it is like the amp morphs from a classic Orange/Marshall into a scooped mid Rectifier. I rarely play high gain material these days, but it is nice to know it is there in a studio setting. If you need more gain than this then you must be in an industrial band. Seriously.
The tone knob is unbelievably flexible, though I do wish I could dial out some of the lows without boosting the highs. Honestly this is more of an issue with my Rivera widebody 1x12 as it tends to woof on the low end due to the ported design...sounds great live, but really not ideal for recording. I plan on getting the Orange 2x12 at some point which solve this problem. In fact, I demoed the TT in the store through the 2x12 and it sounded phenomenal. When it comes to the three knobs on this amp...Orange has really made it such that you can't make the amp sound bad.
Hope this answered a few questions regarding the volume and how the amp fares in a studio setting.
I still maintain that there is no other amp on the market that can touch it within a grand...and no other amp that can fare so well in the studio, yet still have enough volume to use in a live setting with a drummer.
-Chris
