Eventide Pitchfactor

Just recently acquired this pedal. Still in the honeymoon phase and all I can say is Wow.

I'm messing around with the presets and I can hear Dave Gilmour, Steve Miller, Eddie Van Halen.... Hooked up to the Big muff, it's something to behold.

Don't think I've ever had so much fun from a single piece of kit. When I've got over this infatuation stage, I'll have a look at the other pedals in the range.

Anyone running this with other Eventide pedals, Modfactor etc?

Good to know - I had been wanting to post and ask about this pedal. Can you give an account of it's octaving ability (up 1 octave)? I recently sold an EHX Micro POG as it was a bit too synthy for me and the generated transients weren't to my tastes... but I still want a octave/harmoniser pedal to get a faux second guitarist effect.

In octave mode, can you play chords or does it get quite droney?

Massive Eventide fan here. I don't have any pedals, but I have a couple of harmonizer racks which share a lot of the same algorithms as the pedals.
If you like the pitchfactor, you will be equally impressed by the all the other models. They are all awesome.
And once you start running them together, you will be very happy indeed.

I have the ModFactor, TimeFactor, and SPACE, and I love 'em all.

TBH I'm still exploring the presets. It's taking a while because so many of them just sound so good and once you start tweaking you can spend hours faffing around.

It looks like the Octaver effect only goes down 1 and 2 octaves, not up but Diatonic lets you shift up up to 2 octaves. Some of the pitch shifts don't work so well on chords depending on what key and mode you select. I'm not much on theory, I just twiddle till it sounds good. I'm going to need to put some effort in and learn to drive it properly.

What strikes me though is how rarely the presets descend into nasty territory unlike my other digitech and korg multieffects pedals. In terms of satisfaction and all round fun this would have to be the best bit of gear I've bought.

Looks like you're just one short of the full set!

Yep, but I really wouldn't have much use for the Pitchfactor. I'd need a bigger board,too... Not that there's anything wrong with that...
