Bright Onion Pedals

Anyone tried them?

I'm looking for a big looper for recording use to keep my chain as short as I can. I have some pedals that are pretty noisy but I love the "on" sound of them so a looper would be killer.

I love to support local one man band operations (I'm also a Brightonian!) and this guy built the big box in the middle of Josh Klinghoffer's (RHCP) live board so it must be a good unit, right?

I just wondered if anyone has any experience with these bad boys before I pull the trigger on one as the price is amazing, if the performance matches the others out there.

What units do you use, out of interest so I know what you're vouching for

I had a buffer and an isolating transformer, like a humdinger but in two pedals, the buffer early in the chain and the transformer at the end (when I use a second amp).

He was great to deal with, and great value,

I've recommended him to a few people, it's always worked out well.

Just ordered a 10 looper. Will report back once it gets here in 9 days + shipping time. Here's hoping!

Ok so I recieved the Looper today and must say it's fantastic! Very well made (by hand) and exactly to my own spec. I got the 10 loop model painted white with different coloured LEDs in pairs. Sounds extremely transparent as I thought it would! Very impressed for the price. I was going to get the Carl Martin Octaswitch but this has worked out better for me since I use a Radial Buffer anyway.

My one concern is that I didn't have enough cable to hook it all up. Good time for me to learn to solder . I'm about to order 60 switchcraft ends with Sommer Spirit cable since Mogami is a pain to get hold of here in England. The plugs on the BOP Looper are good quality, but they're a little close to each other meaning if you're using angled jacks, you won't be able to hook it all up as the jack plugs are too big.

I'll be building a little "plinth" for it to stand on, raising it off the floor meaning I can angle the plugs straight down until I buy or build a pedalboard for the unit.

Can't complain at the looper though, fantastic for the price and better than I thought it'd be. Will be buying from him again!
