Guitar Effects for Bass or Bass Effects for Guitar?

In general, given the choice between one or the other, if you can have only one multieffect for both bass and guitar, do you go with the bass version or the guitar version?

Playing a doubleneck bass/guitar with a single output. Using a Boss GT-6. I have the guitar version. I wonder if I might be better off with the bass version.

I use a DS2 on my bass. Most people think it sounds awful but I have a lot of fun not caring

Some bass effects are optimized for the bass frequencies but that doesn't mean they don't sound good with a guitar and vise versa. You gotta experiment to see what you like

Have used a number of guitar effects on bass over the years with mixed results. Rarely completely awful, but none so stellar that I would recommend them highly to other bassists.

Conversely, I don't think it's ever even occured to me to play a guitar through my bass-specific effects.

So...Uh... I got nothing.

often times the only difference between a guitar and bass effect is a capacitor value. It's mostly marketing, but only your ears can be the guide. A circuit designed for bass is with the intent of working with that low range and could be not ideally suited for a guitar.

If it sounds good it is good!
