Blackstar 10" vs 12"

I just got the Blackstar Combo 2x10" and started experimenting after having used plugins before. I live in an apartment so I have to keep the volume VERY low. Basically as low as possible on this amp, but the tone/chunck/dist is still good on low.

But I am thinking about exchanging the 2x10" for the 1x12" because it seems everyone choose the 12" and Blackstar even stopped making the 10". I have no idea how the sound differ because I haven't tried the 12".

I play mainly punk and rock. Will this make a big difference in my home studio? Will I go "woha" when I record with the 12" as opposed to the 10"?? Is it worth exchanging?

Probably not. The difference in a 10" or 12" is more noticeable when playing live than when recording. In fact, 10's might be better for recording depending on what you are doing.

Best...H

logichead thank you very much for taking the time to answer me! It is much appreciated. What does the extra 12" do? Do they just add more bass or do they change to whole sound and character of the amp? I'm quite happy with my 10" but fear that I might be missing out on something special with a 12", but I have no idea.

So 10" or 12" doesnt really make a great difference when recording at home? Swapping from 10 to 12 wont be a eureka moment?

I hope that's not your real name!

12" = maybe a bit louder, slightly more bass. (if you apply more volume)

If you have to record very quietly, I wouldn't spend the money. Wont make any difference

Ha ha it isn't my christian name so don't worry

Thank you for the answer. Then it seems 10" will be good enough for me.
