My Recordings/Credits

Affordable or not, a guitar with a heavy neck and a light weight body is what I like.

Don't mind much if neck is thin but I like narrow fretboard more.

h-h or h-s pick-up configuration, 3 way switch is fine but 5 is better.

prefer strat like shapes but do also like the jackson warrior body although I don't play metal.

I prefer stiff feeling strings cause picking is easyer and strings can be a little bit lower. 25.5 with heavy 0.10 steel string is fine.

...recently played the new affordable charvel's, they felt great and sounded good. Probably best buy to me at this time.

Am I the only one who likes a tree trunk neck?

I have some thinner neck guitars and they're great for "shred" but I prefer my LP with a huge neck and 12 guages

I think the only way to build a dream guitar for that much money is to buy the raw materials and build it yourself. I did that when I was a much younger man. Dig the guitar in my avatar- that's it. It plays as good as any guitar I've ever had (and I've had lots of them). 20 years later, although my concept of what my dream guitar would be has changed, that axe still gets a fair amount of use, and it's pretty versatile in terms of the menu of tones I have to choose from.

I have a $500 (price new) guitar that is certainly not a dream (unless you dream of generic mediocrity), it's just OK. Well actually it's better than OK because I put $600 of work and parts into it so it's actually now an $1100 guitar and I gig with it when I'm playing somewhere new that I don't want to risk my more Name Brand (dream) guitars getting stolen or damaged
What guitar, out of interest? In most cases like that, when it comes to resale youd be unlikely to get back what you put into it.
