I am considering purchasing this amp, but cannot decide between Head/Cab or Combo. Will there be tonal differences recording....thoughts!!??

Personally, I prefer heads. It's nice to have a variety of speaker cabs for different purposes, and you're less likely to run into vibration and rattles if you can decouple the amp from the speaker.

This can go both ways, same with open back, closed back.

More important is the build. Is it made with a printed circuit board or hand wired point to point?

Reeves makes fantastic amps! I have some experience with the 6watt combo. Really great amp...very open back.

I'm following Kafka too. Head and cab. So much more flexible tonally, and easier to make rattle free.

Does the combo come as a 2x12? 2x10? Or is it a single driver?

Mixing a dark smooth speaker with a bright and chimney one can give you some of the flexibility recording-wise that a head and different speaker cab setup can offer.

This is from Reeves website:

I've never played one, but Hiwatts are awesome. Reeves seems to be in aiming for that. Sounds like a winner. Play one and report back.

Head as well. You can always buy a closed cab, open back cab, or convertible cab, but you can't close up a tube combo cab... food for thought.

Then again, I'm the guy that turned my '65 Bandmaster into a 2x12 combo. Go figure.

Modern Day Music Gear is tough, there's so much great stuff out there but most of the time it is hard to try it out haha
