I like the Ibanez FZ7 fuzz pedal it's got a "damage" switch (0% 10% 100%) it sort of cuts /fizzles out but in a cool way and it's dirt cheap

I've heard a few Fuzz Factory demos. I think it is a great fuzz pedal and ZVEX is a pro company but I am not sure it can get as nasty as the other pedals I mentioned. Correct me if I am wrong.

I have a Fuzz Factory.

I haven't heard the pedals in the links in real life, but if they are crazier than the Fuzz Factory then they are going to be pretty unmanageable (which may or may not be a good thing).

The FF is on the border of being so out of control that it is unusable- you have to be careful how you use it otherwise it disappears into a haze of complete mush.

Perhaps some other FF owners will chime in on this?

I love the fuzz factory, but it is a little smooth, too. Not as smooth as an analogman sunface. But if you want real violence, check out death by audio stuff, or the 4ms noise swash. Also really like the prescription electronics experience pedal, but its also sort of smooth, but more interesting harmonically than the fuzz factory.

Try a Soda Meiser. I went after the very sort of thing recently. I have a lot of fuzzes. I've even got a Red Witch FUZZOTRON, one of only 5 ever made. That thing is beastly. But, the Soda Meiser from Ooh La La was the thing I was after. That sort of broken sounding thing. It's got a Chaos switch that fizzes and spurts the longer you sustain a note. Ridiculous. And cool.

why not try destroying some speakers ,slashing or sticking rizlas or slashing or ball bearings on them if it's for a recording situation

Zvex Fuzz Factory, as others have said.

But it's not for the faint-of-heart.

Try watching the Zvex videos (on their site). You'll see what we mean.

It's sort of chaos in a stomp box. Which may or may not be what you want.

For certain applications, it's unbeatable. At other times it's a nuisance.

But I still love it.

I still think that the fuzz factory is a great fuzz pedal but certainly not what I am after for.

Anyone has experienced any of the pedals I mentioned? Another point is that I think some boutique pedals are overpriced. This is the case of Zvex pedals ,imo. The Mellowtone (Wolf Computer) pedals for example are way better priced. I own the Meep 1.5 pedal and it works great and even opened it to be sure the component were top quality and believe they are.

I primarily use 3, and for different reasons: Cornish G2, Prescription Electronics "Experience", and the Z-Vex FF. I've put these in order of chaos. G2 is thick and creamy but not too glitchy. The tone of God, but you're looking for Satan. The Experience can give you anything from mild tone-thickening fuzz to the thicker Black Keys fuzz to Jack White's tweezed lead tones to downright madness with it's Swell knob. Even though the Cornish is a supposed God of tone, it's the Experience I use the most. I HIGHLY recommend it. There might be a review somewhere - I remember seeing that it won a Guitar Player shootout of some sort.

The Fuzz Factory is kinda gimmicky to me. It's WAY too "glitchy" to the point of fractal mayhem. Better for sound design than guitar tone. And when it's cleaned up I don't care so much for it's basic tone.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Go buy a fuzz factory. you'll hate it for a month, but when you finally figure it out, you will love it!

It has a gate knob, which I think is what you are going for. That knob will give you the big muff sustain to the really choppy 'glitch' sounds. And as for price they start about $175 I believe.

Electro harmonic makes a pedal that right on the controls is a bias control and a battery control to make it sound as if the battery is dying in the unit. Its the germanium overdrive. Watch the video on their website about it.

Well IMO you tend to get what you pay for with products like these. Once I cheaped out on pedals and got exactly what I paid for, cheap pieces of crap. Luckily for you the Fuzz Factory isn't what you're looking for so there's no real reason to even bring up prices.

There's as many fuzz flavours...Just to add to the list, if your are interested in vintage fuzz boxes, check out the Roland BeeBaa, the maestro/gibson fuzztone or the Mosrite Fuzzrite (There's a really good clone called Fuzzbrite by Ashbass)

if you can't get glitchy out of this combo nothing will help you.

i can get more sounds of a fuzz factory than any other dirt box... you just have to experiment with twisting knobs and gain scheduling
