Yes, improved tone, harmonics and sustain. I certainly found that to be the case.
Extra bonus: black saddles!

Some absolutely stunning Teles on here! This is my humble offering - a '93 MIJ Squier Silver Series with Tobacco Sunburst finish and stock pick ups. Bought off the Bay for £285 around five years ago. I've got pretty small hands and short fingers so the thinner neck really helps and it plays beautifully. The stock pickups are pretty good too, the neck has a really 'dark' quality but the bridge is nice and bright as it should be in a Tele!
I was going to drop an SD Hot Rails in there since I play a lot of punk/90s emo but I found out that using a Big Muff and a Boss SD-1 in front of my Blackstar with Palmer cab/Greenback speaker gets me a tone I'm really happy with.
I wish I had more money and was in a band so I could justify more Teles! I want to get another MIJ and drop some fat humbuckers in it.

MIJ '69 Thinline. Motor City Pickups "Detroiter" neck and Harmonic Design Super 90 bridge. 4-way switch added.
G&L ASAT Deluxe. Mahogany body w/maple cap. Ebony neck w/no fret markers. Sustainiac neck and Motor City Pickups "Detroiter" bridge pickups.
Fender Custom Shop 60s tele. Light relic, double bound.

Picture is a little blurry, was too tired to set up a tripod. It's a Wildwood Fender '52 RI custom Telecaster. I love it. Maple boat neck(my big hands love it) and board, jumbo frets, CS pickups, ash body, thin skin nitrocellulose finish, 3 way switch. |

"Parts" Tele I found in a store for $400. No serial anywhere, neck has a 1997 date and is from a 52 reissue (string tree is a giveaway). Bridge pup is a Texas Special, neck is a Jerry Donahue. Body had been crudely stripped but that butterscotch stain is stuck in the grain - kinda neat as a road worn mojo. The thing is featherlight at 6.9lbs and the body is very resonant. Neck plays like a dream. Middle position on pickup switch is a cool honky sound.

My Tele!
MIM Telecaster, with Seymour Duncan Antiquity II and an S1 routing switch. This thing is hot -- especially through my Blues Jr.

'78 wine red transparent finish that is coming off a little here an there.
All stock. Should get a new bridge at some point. Heavy weight, sounds good.

Isn't is a sick guitar? I love the thing. Who would have thunk it. So many sounds out of that guitar and sounds great through so many different amps. It's awesome to be able to tap it too. It does play like a dream too.

I didn't want to harp on about how good it sounds as I suspect many of the Tele's on show here sound outstanding...but it just blew me away. I wrote a review here: Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster FMT HH
I'm not a particularly competent guitarist but the FMT is the best guitar I've ever played...both for comfort/playability and sound. The guy in the guitar shop said they were sad to see it go...this time I believed him.

I don't think Fender even makes that one anymore, which makes it even cooler to own. Rock on brother.
Peace.

Okay, I'll play!
Here's my AV '62 RI that slowly worked its way to being my #1 (after playing Gibson's for forty plus years).

Here are mine, both American Standards. The black has a lot of Hipshot stuff, a B bender, a G bender, and a bunch of drop tuners. With those I can get into open G tuning in a heartbeat, or that's the theory... in reality I spend a lot of time fine tuning this stuff.
Which is why the sunburst one was started to be outfitted with Hipshot stuff, but I stopped that project.
The black model has a Callaham bridge, which cost me $200, and it's worth every single penny. What a great bridge. You will go on the website, and see a lot of claims. They are all true.
