R&B/Pop Vocal Recording With Tony Shepperd...

Here is a vid of my good friend Tony Shepperd recording singer/songwriter Shelea Frazier. She is a pro and has great mic and studio technique. Great vid for all you young producers wanting to know how to stack vocals, record leads and everything in between... The file is 500mb so please be patient...

Not trying to be funny, but are there really producers out there that don't know how to stack vocals?

Great that you are sharing this, but I'm curious to know what he could be doing on the vid that is so groundbreaking-ly fascinating.

I must live in a bubble or something.....

Couple things about the vid...

From a talent perspective Shelea Frazier is great! Consummate pro and very focused. Tony is (as a "producer") providing little hindrance to the creative process and moves the session along quickly.

For up-and-comers in the RnB game, this is a good little peek into the pace and feel of pro-level sessions and how ideas can quickly develop into very SOLID performances.

Don't knock it, 'til ya see it.

Peace,
PWG

I always think Tony's contributions on GS are of very high intelligence and knowledge and I bet he's a great producer/engineer.
I think most of his stuff is ITB too and it sounds very nice.

There are MANY....mostly those who call themselves producers but are not.

The m4v is an mpeg 4 encoded video stream. If you have iTunes, you should be able to view it.

Just in case you can't, there's a QuickTime H.264 encoded version at:

Send jmarkham a PM if you're still having problems viewing the material
