a trick to get a nice rythmic "pump" out of bed pads is to put the pad in a downward expander.. trigger from the soc or shaker track or a combo of the two [sometimes even kick and snare can make a cool efx] and set the downward move at at 3 dB or more ..

it creats a nice effect that is felt as a nice rythm groove..gets the body rocking
