Tips & Techniques:Keyboards- Fatten 'em up!Hey guys, Many of you may use this, but I discovered it out of necessity and it works pretty well. If you have a client playing a keyboard with no depth, character, soul, fatness or all of the above, try this out and see how it works. Snag your best DI, and have them do a solid pass using the L output of the keyboard. Then go back and have them do another solid pass with the output switched to R. Pan and drool. Simple enough!

what means that?? i haven't understood what gives more fatness to keyboards? the two different DI or the DI in general? is because you use two different kind of DI and sum them gives a better result? |

Another trick for making synths sound thicker and more 'real' is processing with some sort analogue outboard and pushing it to distortion. I've found re-amping keys through my API 3124 pre's and pushing them to the limit adds a real thickness and makes then sound more...better. | |
