Tips & Techniques:Drums-Getting That Fat Bottom Snare.

Ever pull up your snare you just recorded, solo the top first. Not bad. Maybe a touch of EQ, a little compression. You then bring up the bottom snare and mix it with the top. Sounds a little thin...EQ, Little compression, But something still sounds weird!!??

I know this is simple, but when recording don't point the bottom snare mic STRAIGHT at the snares. Point a little off the snares. Since I started doing this, my snare sounds are A LOT easier to deal with.

Hope this helps!
