Gearslutz Reviews

Win 1 of 4 Softube TubeTech Classic Channel plug-ins in our May/June giveaway!

All you have to do is write a review of any pro audio gear (hardware or software) between now and the end of June. Gearslutz' very own Jules will choose the best four reviews after the closing date and those four lucky writers will each receive a TubeTech Classic Channel license from our friends at Softube. Already have this awesome plugin? No problem - Softube will let you swap it for other plug-ins of your choice (up to a $489 value).

Read more about this incredible plugin here.

The boring stuff: the contest closes June 30, 2013. You can do as many reviews as you like but remember they are being judged on quality, and you can only win once! An iLok is required to use the plug-in. Winners will be notified via Gearslutz PM or email. The judge's decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

Good luck!

Logic Pro 9

Logic Pro is a DAW officially supported by Apple. After I switch to OSX, I also make a switch from Cubse 5 to Logic Pro 9.

It's been awhile since I use Logic Pro 9 (Since 2011) and so far I'm quite satisfied with the ease of use, the built-in plugins, virtual instrument and its compatibility with various audio interface. Sometimes you just need to plug and play. No driver installation needed.

I am not an recording or mastering engineer. Just some not famous singer, songwriter that want to self publish my own music, and songs.

So far (as of Aug 2012) I have been publishing 1 commercial single and I feel satisfied with the end results. I do everything from recording, mixing and mastering only in Logic Pro. Perhaps it's not as good as releases from major label but at least I can reach my audience with some real music.

It's so easy to use for non-technical person like me. I've tried to work with Cubase, Pro Tools and Reaper. But I still think Logic Pro is far easier DAW to use.

I'd recommend this DAW for same like minded person;
Singer, songwriter that just want to get the thing done at minimal cost.
