All you have to do is write a review of any pro audio gear (hardware or software) between now and the end of June. Gearslutz' very own Jules will choose the best four reviews after the closing date and those four lucky writers will each receive a TubeTech Classic Channel license from our friends at Softube. Already have this awesome plugin? No problem - Softube will let you swap it for other plug-ins of your choice (up to a $489 value).

Read more about this incredible plugin here.

The boring stuff: the contest closes June 30, 2013. You can do as many reviews as you like but remember they are being judged on quality, and you can only win once! An iLok is required to use the plug-in. Winners will be notified via Gearslutz PM or email. The judge's decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

Good luck!

IGS S-Type

I was looking for a nice mixbus compressor that wouldn't trouble my wallet too much and I had an eye on the "elysia Xpressor" at first but when I tried it, it felt kind of not spectacular...

It didn't feel like it would give me that extra "analogue" feel I hoped for.

Since I always liked SSL Type bus compressors I looked into clones and after asking my dealer he told me that the S-type gets a lot of love...

I had a few projects that I used cytomics glue plugin on and I just took it off and reproduced my settings on the S-type.

All I can say is, I was amazed...

I know this is a really old phrase but this unit brings everything closer to your face and also adds a little 3D'ness to your sound!

It was a real difference to the plugin though I couldn't compare it to the original SSL unit.

Appart from the standard controls it also has a Sidechain Filter for bass heavy material and other purposes. I would have wished for a parallel processing control which would also be my only point of criticism.

The whole signal path is a class A design and really light on the noise side of things! You really have to pull up a lot of gain to hear anything, this is truly one of the quietest processors I've heard in this price range.

The unit uses the well known THAT chip and is built with a strong focus on quality as you can see on the manufacturers Homepage.

All in all I wasn't disappointed a bit and never used anything else on the mixbus ever since I got this tool!

I think this is a real bang for the buck unit and if your on the lookout for buscompression check this toy out!
