I have a DSM 6s the standard model which I use with the preamp PA-3SX made by the same designer.

His website frightens me. It is horrifying , dont go there. Really.

It is a glimpse into the mind of mad genius.
These Mics are very unique they are closely matched omni's in side of baffles that look like headphones , yes its ghetto bond, james bond.

I love the imaging , nothing and I mean nothing I have heard can do what these mics do , and it translates to speakers, these are NOT binaural.

Binaural mics sound amazing on headphones but because they surrounded by the cohclear when you hear them on speakers they go through the complex folds of skin, cohclear twice, which alters the response of the sound.

At least this was my understanding of the designers interesting descriptions.

All i know is I have heard the DSM mics on speakers and they do image effectively while binaurals dont, the DSM sit on top of the cohclear thus avoiding the effect of traditional binaural mics.

These mics as all small electret omni's struggle with a higher then usual noise floor.

He says he offers various sensitivities for different application ....I don't know he would not let me order , he told me what I needed.
I relented, yes this does sound a little wierd , well it is......but having heard these they really are mazing as room mics for guitars and drums.
And they excell at sfx like being there so 3d I love these mics.

I beleive Flecther has used these and commented on there cool room mic ness.

At any rate they are quite expensive for the noise floor they have which is not usable with very quiet sources.
Now for sfx this standard model is totally adequate because in real world sfx there is always some background noise its not a studio. So in that case you can get stunning imaging with these really f---ing stunning

Overpriced perhaps but I am not aware of anything that does what this does and wearing on your head what looks like headphones is real fun for stealth capture.
