| Gibson Advanced Jumbo (re-issue) This is an excellent acoustic guitar.
I was in a music store and played it, put it down but i did not forget it.
I came back a week later and there was a guy playing it really well sounded lovely.
He put it away, I tried it again and fell for it.
It is dangerous to go into store and make friends with strange intruments and end up falling in , or at least expensive.
I love a good deal and this one was used.
needles to say a year later no regrets.
It has a big sound lots of volume, and bass, but it also excels at finger picking style as well.
Recording this guitar is a breeze as long as you get your mic placement and room acoustics working for you.
Close micing without a rolloff might mess you up.
The action is typical of gibsons; very good.
The tone is both balanced and sweet , of course it will sound better in 20-30 years as the woods age.
But it is a well made instrument with a very distinct voice on the warmer side of tone.
Compared to another vintage acoustic from the 20's , I would say that the wood could use some aging , gotta love old instruments they have souls.
Buut as for the jumbo I think it has a really nice tone .It is not as bright as some , but has a richness of mid range which is never honky.
