| Fender squire pbass This is a made in Korea squire pbass.
Perhaps the only thing wrong is the sound. The pick-ups suck. Now if you were to upgrade them well then this thing might be useful.
The playabilty of the neck is excellent and you can adjust the bridge and truss rod to achieve good action.
I like the long scal and wide fingerboard.
The pick guard is fine the pots feel cheap and have no positive resistence but then again i dont think that is unuasul for feder pots.
the tone knob has a small effect and is not that useful.
the tuners are good and feel good in use and the bass holds a tune acceptably.
I think the quality of pick up is my only gripe. Now real alnico pick-ups are more expensive or almost as expensive as I paid for the whole bass used.
However I think it would be worth it to upgrade as then the sound would maybe be richer.
At stock the sound is weak muddy -ish lacking definition and power.
I do not know how old the bass is but im thinking late 90's and I can't speak to current runs or the differences in production in different countries.
This bass is workable for its good playing mechanics but I think an upgrade of pick-ups is in order for recording wiht it. |
