Question Any suggestions for a portable digital recorder?

I'm looking for something to take with me to my co-writing sessions. I have an iPod, but unless you bring a computer along, all of the accessories on the market aren't very good.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Can't you plug a mic into the ipod - probably called an imic?
I use a minidisc recorder for that kind of stuff - the Sony BZ 10. You push the red button and it starts recording. No menus to deal with. Built in crappy mic. Built in crappy speakers. Just like having a crappy cassette deck, but recording to minidisc. The advantage is, every time you record, you get a new ID#. Plus you can add ID#'s while you're rolling. Then you can go back and log all your ideas by ID#. No more fast forwarding to find stuff. Sure it's obsolete technology, but it works. Plus, if you're really into it, you can plug in a little Sony stereo mic, or use line inputs to capture signal from a mixer. It records 160 minutes in mono or 80 in stereo per disc.

I did buy the iMic or whatever it's called, and it isn't very good. I do have a MiniDisc recorder, but I'm looking to get something I can connect to my Mac once I have however many songs recorded. My MiniDisc recorder doesn't have a USB out connector.

Thanks for the tip tho...

M-Audio Microtrack 24/96

This little recorder records in stereo and has it's own stereo mic you can use or you can plug in external mic. It also has phantom power. The recording medium is compact flash. The sound quality is very impressive and you can simply load the wave files into your DAW if you wish.

BT uses one .

Im looking at one myself as I have a little MICROCASSETTE thingy I use then I have to dump it into the computer and try and get the hiss out.
I ususally dump it in and burn a CD with my song ideas when they are fresh, I can always corect it later when I actually track a scratch

There are other uints say if you want FOUR tracks but the price keeps climbing
