thisguy Gear interested Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 18 Thread Starter	Field Sampling I use an ECM MS 907 Sony Condenser Mic, and anMZ-R37 Sony Minidisc Recorder. The mic takes 2 AA's, the minidisc has some preamp power. Usually the samples are good enough quality for what I use them for, however I have trouble with low level noise and wind interference. But I am looking to spend 200 tops on new stuff, so maybe this is the best, but if not, let me know! Any suggestions on how to do it better or what equipment to use would be great.

bishopthomas Lives for gear Joined: Oct 2006 Location: New Jersey Posts: 1,650	An external preamp is exactly what you need. I can't think of any that are battery powered for under $200 though. Maybe someone else here can throw out some ideas. In the meantime you may want to check out sites like www.core-sound.com and www.soundprofessionals.com.
