Exclamation All Remotesters are welcomed to come to the 2006 NY Gearslutz get together!

As you may have already heard we have created a NY Chapter of Gearslutz!!!

Larry Hammel and I are having our first get together at Larry's Deepwave Music Production's studio in LIC on November 5th, 2006.

Checkout the thread New York Chapter of Gearslutz.

If you can make it please add your name to the list on the "New York Chapter of Gearslutz" thread.

Let's create a Remotester's list here so we know where we stand...

Larry and I both hope to see you there.

Steve, I met Michael Wagener today at the Skid Row record release at the Hard Rock. It's a shame he can't stay until next Sunday to join us! Great guy!
I vote we make him an honorary NY'er!!!

Wow, I'd love to show up but Sundays are usually not good for me. What I could learn from that meeting! Your virtual gobo technique has been really helpful for my live recordings. I hope there will be more meetings and perhaps on another day. I am a part timer right now and soaking up knowledge but maybe someday...I'm in NJ, by Giants' Stadium (go Giants!)-Mark

Yes Steve and I are happy to host this bash and welcome all recordists to the get together. Besides being a fantastic moderator, Steve is a wealth of information based on his 30 odd years of experience in the business. Get instant feedback to all your remote recording questions. Anything we do here at the studio can be applied to your onsite gigs and Steve will help us translate studio techniques to working in the trenches of a live gig. Please PM me if you plan on attending. I will provide you with details and directions. See you on Sunday.

So, we have about 20 or thirty GS members coming to this meeting...

Any Remotesters in that bunch?

Planning on it...

Steve, I'm supposed to be there. Me + a bunch of my preamps, etc.

Just had a client drop a box with two 1-ton motors on my foot...if things go OK, I'll be there. If I don't show, it's because I'm getting a cast put on the damn thing.

Hope to see you there, bro. Been too long!!!

Can I get an address to look up how much of a drive it will be? I live just outside of DC so it probably won't be doable :(

Ok, I'm gonna bail. What with the marithon and all, it will take too long to drive there.

I'll catch the next one.

Yo', the marathon is trickling down as I'm posting this thread. I just made it here and we're looking good. The Marathon should be ending by 3PM or so...

Furthermore, Andy Farber please reconsider coming down -- We really would love to see you here.

Man, I wish I could have made it. My wife had some prep work to do (she's a school teacher) so I had to deal with my kids all day.

I'm looking forward to the next one, and I'll try and talk "JazzYoda" into makin' it too.

That was fun...

Thanks to all who showed up for this event, it was a blast. It even convinced me to finally register and get on the forums...
Great conversations, great gear, a new room, and a kick ass patchbay make for a good time.

Sorry I didn't make it down- my Saturday gig turned out to be MUCH longer than anticipated and a day with my family was a necessity. I hope there will be more, I'd love to meet and talk with all of you.

I posted a few pics of Steve Remote in all his refulgent glory, scattered among some 30-odd Gearslutz at the Aura Sonic-Deepwave Music Productions hosted equipment shootout/industry hang at Deepwave Music Studios this Sunday.

Check 'em out at http://web.mac.com/gilwave/iWeb/Site..._Shootout.html

And keep an eye out for Steve's newest business venture, www.patchbaysRus.com
