UA 6176 for Live Performances?

Hi,

My band just played our 2nd show tonight. It was actually pretty bad. Tiny little club with basically no monitoring system. To make matters worse the band is loud and our singer can be VERY dynamic. She sings lots of soft quiet parts in between really belting it out. So I'm thinking, she probably needs a compressor. It wouldn't be too big of a deal to put my 6176 in a rack and take it to the gig. Do you guys see any problems with that?

Do you think there's a better solution?

Oh, and don't talk about mic technique... that won't quite do it.

They work GREAT live.

You might want to mult off of the mic pre without the compression for the wedge mix, though... Monitors with compression seem to make the over dynamic performances even worse.
