Thread Starter | Effects processor for live bass guitar
Greetings all, My first post here. Firstly, I am a bass player only. I come here seeking advice, which most likely only those with your experience can provide. What I need: A high quality effects processor to use when playing my bass guitar live. I play a high quality semi-acoustic Renaissance bass guitar made by Rick Turner. http://www.renaissanceguitars.com/renopener.html This bass has a piezo pickup system only with a custom 18 V preamp system. It uses Tomas Infeld Acousticore bass strings. These strings have a nylon inner core and a Phosphor bronze round wound exterior. These particular strings will not work with magnetic pickups and were specifically designed for this bass. This bass produces a very organic/acoustic sound. I use Acoustic Image amplification systems. http://www.acousticimg.com/index2.html The combination of this particular bass and amplification system provides an excellent high-quality expressive bass sound. However, the endless search for the "perfect" sound continues. I would really like to not have a large array of separate effects pedals. So I am wondering if there is one specific effects processor that I could use to modify and enhance my live bass sound. Would something like the TC Electronics Fireworks gives me the results I am looking for? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for any information you may have. Owen |

what kind of FX do you want? If you're searching for the "perfect sound", you probably would find it in some FX box. That's usually an instrument/amp combo that gives people the sound they want. Sorry I can't be of more help, I don't know a lot of bass players who use too many FX, just maybe a wah wah, distortion or flanger here and there.

| You need to get a Mangler, a PCM-70, an Eventide of some vintage, and an effecton II. Maybe an ADSR filter too. Put them in a rack an use a MIDI controller to change patches. -tINY |
