If the pres on teh big one are good, I will definitely be getting one. It all comes down to the pres for that box.

The little one looks like a toy, and I already have an r-09.
For the big one, it says here (a little more specific than the last link)
http://ishibashi.co.jp/webshop/recor...rg/mr-1000.htm
that the price is JPY118,000 (about $1kusd, or GBP510), including 5% sales tax, and that they plan to start shipping them in late january. It might take longer for them to start exporting them, and I would expect the price to be slightly higher in the US and significantly higher in the UK, even not counting the VAT.

What were your issues with the firmware? I just ordered one and am curious. I will eventually have it mod'd by Oade Bros.

Anyway, what was the beef?

then record the final mix again into DSD, they say there might be problems with the HF noise, but I'm not sure since many Audiophile record companies do things this way and as far as i know there has not been any complaints about lost of transparency.
But DSD is digital and constant conversion will harm the sound, Look on the net for info regarding the recording of john Hiatt's master of disaster, when they tried to convert the recorded tracks back to analog into an SSL board the headroom was so huge that the SSL could not handle it, only when they tried a Neve board where they able to get the signals into the analog domain and begin mixing.
What about this: Mix all analog into the DSD (MR1000), then play back the DSD mix into a Lucid 2496 AD converter at 16 bit 44.1 into a Masterlink. Result: A high resolution DSD played back analog, converted to 16 bit digital into Masterlink for "red book" CD production? Any flaws here?????
