Since Steve is like freakin' McGuyver I figured he'd have some ideas. I need to find a way to mount a Green Bullet to a mic stand and have it be pretty stable. Any takers on this idea?

Interesting... Does the Green Bullet need to be shared with another mic? You know, side by side, above or below each other, or in an arbitrary position on the stand? Two more things. Will it be used as a Harmonica mic? Do you need to use or access the volume control?

That would be a big no to all those questions. I'd like to experiment with putting the GB in front of guitar amps, over or somewhere inside a drum kit, use it for a room mic etc. I tried placing the mic on an unused Neumann shockmount and while it kind of worked it didn't grip the mic enough for me to hang it over a kit. It just kind of sits in the mount and doesn't grip the mic at all. Ideally once I place the GB it's placed and won't be touched until we're done tracking. |

I believe I can fabricate something that can permanently be attach to the mic... I can drill out the two pop rivets that hold the badge under the mic and re-rivet (or screw) a custom aluminum (or plastic) mic clip that can be screwed onto a mic stand. Another thought, would be to measure the size of the machine screws that hold the mic grille in place and get longer ones that can be used to attach a custom fork like mic clip device which can also screw onto a mic stand. |

#1 is clever but sounds a little too permanent. What if someone wants to use it as a harp mic? Would the clip be permanently attached? That might screw' em up. #2 sounds much cooler. It might take a few minutes to switch back to stock but that's no big deal. Thanks, I'm getting some ideas. |

I was thinking about picking this mic up for recording harp. does it not have a way to be connected to a stand? that seems kind of absurd to me.

| . That picture was also a link before (who I assume were) the mods changed it to an attachment. . I can't remember to exactly which supplier that picture originally linked, but the product is known as a "utility clamp," and is used for chemistry, etc. Here's a link to more about it: Chemstores Lab Equipment: utility clamp . |

Mod not mods; I'm the "only" one screwing things up around here. Please note: I rather have attachments on the forum!!! Reason: Many times the links change or go dead and we end up with nothing to reflect on. I hate when we loose pictures because the Website changed their URL or shutdown. Just go look at many of the older threads; there are buckets of missing data due to the lost link syndrome. I believe we have a better shot at keeping all pictures and such when we use the GS servers and attach them to our posts. Furthermore, I'm sorry I did not notice the picture had a link. I would have kept the link up and available. Oh, one more thing - did I mention I would rather you folks post (picture) attachments rather than links to other URLs? Now, back to the show... Quote:

I wasn't complaining (exactly). Your forum, your rules, and I can see how you'd like to keep the large image files to a minimum on a site like this. | |
