Robert Glasper one mic one take...?

One mic - oh really?

I just watched this and it sounds amazing, but also - it sounds stereo and I doubt they would get such double bass sound from the mic in THAT position... or???

Robert Glasper - Smells Like Teen Spirit (1 Mic 1 Take) - YouTube

Is the title fake? Or can they make some magic at Capitol studios with just ONE mic?

I think it's just artistic licensing when it comes to the name... in order to show off the live 'no tricks' element of the performances... the piano is obviously stereo, for a start

Or one multi-channel, multi-capsule, multi-output, multi-position mic...

Love the black&white and one mic. Why not just one camera too?

Looks more like a normal upright bass pickup to me more so than a microphone.

Yes, I thought it was more a "poetic" description than reality... stereo gave it away immediately.

But it could be a really special project if they'd really do it with one mic only...
