Talking DAV mic pres w/acoustic steel string

Anybody have any sound samples of DAV pres on a acoustic steel string??? I'm recording a Martin D28 with lots of loud hard strumming. I loved the sound samples of the DAV BG-2 on the post comparing it to the Millenia HV3D. If anyone has any real experience with DAV pres on acoustic guitar, I'd love to hear about it!

many thanks,

Araw

HI Araw,

I recorded an acoustic steel string last year with a BG1 that I had on loan. I can't remember what the guitar was but I was happy with the sound. It was a nice clean sound that you could put low in a mix and have it cut through or you could have it exposed and be happy with the sound. If you want loads of character there are other options as you probably know, also the hot ouput you get from the BG1 is great.

If I can find the original session files I will put some examples of the solo guitar for you. I may not have time as I am quite busy at the moment. Hope this was of some use. Hopefully some guys who own one of these will jump in with some info as well.

Greetings.

No samples, but could be helpful:

DAV BG-2 vs. Millennia HV-3D

Araw...I'm sorry to hijack this thread....it did not seem necessary to start a new thread with this question:

Where do you buy a DAV pre?

From what i can tell aren't they made and sold in Europe?

Is there any dealers in the US?

Thanks for letting me rip this thread.

buy from Mick direct. There are a couple dealers, but ALWAYS better to get from Mick direct.

you buy by emailing mick@davelectronics.com OR davelectronics@tiscali.co.uk

Itll be about 700 + 70 for import. (fedex will pay the customs then send you a bill)
