Recording dialogue and performance with ORTF

Hi all,
I am recording a series of panels at a song collectors conference this weekend, and am hoping to use a stereo pair to capture both discussion and performances. For the sake of convenience, I am thinking Ill just bring my Schoeps ORTF pair. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Many thanks!

My thoughts are... you need to rethink your setup.

For starters, close mic the panelists. I assume there will be sound reinforcement. Take a split or just take direct outs from the board. If no reinforcement, set up your own mics.

As for the performances, that really depends on the source. For a choir an ORTF setup would be fine. For a rock band, probably not.
