Rycote ORTF Windshield Kit - When Available?

In an earlier thread I was looking for a stereo wind protection solution for my CM3's. I've tried it out with a blimp and realize I'll need to permanently leave them in there - a real PITA to set up and remove. Not surprising I suppose.

So I've come across Rycote's new ORTF windshield kit.

ORTF Windshield Kit

This looks promising! But not much info out about it. An SOS video from AES puts it at around $550 without a conbox. Not sure if that's MSRP.

Anyone have any info on this? Especially a release date?

Thanks!

It's available now, as far as I know.

I've been searching Rycote's item codes for it (080210, 080211, 080212) and nothing comes up anywhere on the net. You can usually search B&H with it, but even they don't list it. (or a manual search)

I cannot see a distributor for Taiwan.

So - contact Rycote in the UK direct and they will either tell you who to contact for your country or will sell to you direct.

The old solution is dual baby ball gags. Looks positively weird but works.

It's available now, but you have to tell a dealer to contact Rycote with the item number. I ordered mine earlier this week.

Yeah, I contacted Rycote and they said they have shipped a number of units already, but didn't say more than that.

I wouldn't buy within Taiwan. I don't mind the inflated prices so much, I can understand that, but the after purchase "service" frightens me. Not to mention my previous experiences trying to purchase one-off special order items..."too troublesome" for them.

I also tried CVP in the UK. But they didn't have it in their stock pricing, so couldn't help.

@Jaymz: What's the street price on it?
