| Lives for gear |
Hello, I recently bought a 32-8-2 live console (D&R). It is a complete live rig in flightcase with three harting 64pin connectors to jack/xlr a klotz 50m multicable and a stagebox. The D&R was seperated from outboardgear. So I need to collect new outboardgear. I have three reverb units, so aux efx are no concern at this time (like to have a yamaha rev7 but that's for later concern. I need 8 gates and 8 compressors (on bus 1-8). I allready have 8 gates so I will have 16 gates (on channels) and 8 compressors (on busses). What compressors would you recommend. I need fast working gear. Remember it will be used in a live setting.

depends on the budget... In most simple live rigs I see a lot of the cheaper DBX compressors, don't sound bad, and are easy to setup... |

I am thinking soundwize...... There are some more expensive DBX There is Drawmer Perhaps there are other brands I should look in Klark & Teknik Others? What about focusrite? Joemeek? Are there Optical compressors wich can sustain road use? |

What do you personally like? Put together the rig that makes you the happiest. Whatever floats your boat can work – As long as it’s relevant and necessary for your craft.

I have used digital up to now. What would be a good startingpoint?

The focusrite compounder, If I bought 4 of those, would that get me anywhere, better than the DBX's? Is the more expensive DBX'es up to spec? Muziekschuur |

I have used both, DBX's cheap and expensive and I have a compounder... The DBX's are easier to setup and they sound better IMHO, even the cheaper ones... |

What DBX would you recommend? The compounder has a special gadget for low. Drawmer gates can be used per frequency, what special feature does your recommendation have? Thanks in advance. Muziekschuur |
