Drink beer; support jazz... North Coast Brewing Company Check out the fantastic artwork and clever marketing. They are using as many monk related phrases as they can. I understand it's good beer too, a little sweet for my buddy's taste, but a nice sipping belgian style ale. As you can imagine, the owner of North Coast is a huge jazz fan.

Great beer! It's made in the Belgian Trappist style like Chimay. They serve it at Cecil's ( jazz club in New Jersey).

I just hope they are truly respectful of Monk's legacy as this grows. It certainly sounds like the principal of the company has a love for jazz, I just get a bit nervous when I see this kind of marketing pair-up. I wonder if Monk's family had to sign on as well ? Well, if it brings honorable attention to the man, his music, as well as some funds to the institute I'll start buying it whenever I can. Fingers firmly crossed... -Silas

Glad to hear it. I'll certainly keep my eyes out for it in the next few months as they roll it out. Another excuse to do some sampling of the local beer joints Best, Silas |

Just watched "Straight, No Chaser" again recently. I still have 'Well, You Needn't' in my head. It was great to see it with the big horn section - what a groove they had going -swung so hard it hurts. -Silas |
