Question insurance for the band

my band is thinking of getting a group insurance whenever we do gigs. i checked out some quotes at http://www.oneshopinsurance.com they have a couple of insurance companoes which i know is that they're like brokers. what do you advice, get a group insurance or an individual insurance? thanks for the input.

Not every venue requires insurance. In my case, when I book a job in a hotel or something, and I need to show insurance, I book it through my local union, Local 802 AFM of New York. They have a service, called "Go Legit" that acts as the employer of record and also makes health & pension contributions to the musicians and provides insurance. It costs me 19% of the gross wages and I pass that expense along to my client.

I understand that this may not be practical or even possible in many cases but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

You plan on staying a member long enough to collect your pension? That's alot of yearly dues to pay!

FWIW, I've had good luck with musicpro:
