Name this mic - video - classical guitar

Is this a stereo mic? Does anyone know what it is? Does it sound/look like the only one they're using?

Thanks,

Jay

It's a Neumann SM69.

Neumann SM69

It's stereo and there is a FET version and a AC701k tube version.

Yep, SM69, though for my preference a bit too close and a bit of that glassy Neumann character. (Wonder what the pattern/angle settings were?)

I have had good experience recently with the MK21 on guitar, both classical and jazz. Add MK8 in M-S config for a bit of width - who knows -

She plays Redgate guitars. They are lattice braced and firmly planted in the Australian school of building. You can attribute a lot of the "glassy" qualities to the very nature of the guitar she plays. Redgates are not as glassy as the Smallmans, but still glassy nonetheless. A lot of John Williams' recordings with Smallmans are just plain thin and twangy. For some things it works, others it doesn't.

Yes, I agree, I would have placed it further back as well.
