Playback System, RME fw800 vs Apogee Ensemble
Hey All...

Upgrading a Playback Rig for live use and was looking for a few opinions.

I'm debating between the Apogee Ensemble and RME FireFace 800. The rig will be 2x of whichever interface into a Radial SW8, in a rack, sunk into a pelican.

They'll be outputing (and only doing output) from Macbook Pro's running ableton... So i'm no worried about A/D, but D/A and reliability.

Another big concern is durability... They'll be either shipped or checked for 30+ fly dates a year and in a trailer the rest of the time.

Any Opinions or warnings against either interface?

Doesn't get any more reliable than an RME. Though I would look at the UFX for a few more features.
