nice work.. nothing like a good personalised setup.. music is cool also..

check out this guy... different type of thing but he's done some cool stuff for a one man setup also..

Well thought out. But do you really need such a large computer to run that rig? It seems like you could make it a bit smaller and simpler with a laptop?

Thanks Phil, great question. A laptop solution was ruled out because a of a few reasons. First the price for what you get with a laptop vs rackmount is not even close. In my experiences the more power under the hood the more stable the system is under working conditions. I'm using 16 gigs of RAM which is not possible with a laptop. Also most laptops don't have FireWire which is key to his system for the 12 channel audio interface. The rack mount is also easier for me to keep everything together for transit. I considered a lot of options when building this system and found this setup to be the best for my needs.
