| Stage Snake Box (empty) Anyone know where I can buy an empty stage snake box? I want to run and wire in my own snake cable but don't want the hassle of drilling out a box. cheers.

| Spend a few dollars on a Greenlee die set - its a lot easier than drilling everything and won't cost much more than having someone do it for you. Then you'll have it next time you need to mount an XLR jack. Short of that, look for pre-punched rack plates and build the rest of the box. -tINY |

| I have done this before, building my own 16 channel snake with 4 sends....I didn't save one nickel doing it myself....but I actually enjoyed the experience & could space out the purchases, easing the financial burden (I was younger & times were leaner). The previous poster is right, save yourself some time & trouble & buy the punch set, or save yourself even more time & a Helluva lot 0 trouble & buy the whole thing pre-made. I bought a steel box from an electrical supply & drilled all the holes myself....what a PITA. it had knockouts in the end that I used for running the snake cable out, they also had a nice wire mesh strain relief with a big rubber grommet that worked like a charm. I used it for live performance & sound jobs for 15 years & I am still using that same snake to this day in my studio. The snake is Belden all connectors are Switchcraft. I've never had a problem with it.....and I will admit that I do feel a little sense of pride whenever I plug a cable into it....the things you put the most work into are the things you appreciate most! |

| I like -tINY's old school aproach. We have a full set of greenlee dies but, we also have use pre-drilled boxes. If you're still interested we have all the parts to make what you need. How many channels are you talking about? Also, don't forget the the Kelm grips for the cable and stuff.
